HWRHS Spring Sports Update from MIAA (3/30/20 - 5:30 PM)
The MIAA Board of Directors met on March 30th and laid out the framework for what a Spring Season would look like if schools were back in session on Monday, May 4th.
The Cape Ann League Athletic Directors continue to meet and discuss schedules based on the parameters we are being given.
Given the fluid nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, this could change. Based on what the MIAA presented to its members today, here is the best information available at this time:
1st Day of Practice / Tryouts: Monday, May 4th
1st Games & Contests: Monday, May 11th
Regular Season Close Date: TBD
Nature of State Tournament (Qualifying Standards, Tournament Formats): TBD. The MIAA Tournament Management Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Directors during a meeting on April 9th.
End Date by which all games will conclude: June 27th (Weather, June 28th).
If Varsity Teams do not qualify for State Tournament, can they play games after Regular Season ends (but not after 6/27): Yes
Can Sub Varsity Teams play after Varsity Regular Season ends (but not after 6/27): Yes

HWRHS Athletic Department Earns CAL Hyland Award (6/11/19)
The Cape Ann League presented Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School's Athletic Department with the 2018-19 Hyland Award at last night's annual banquet. The award is given for overall excellence in Academics, Athletics and Sportsmanship and takes into account athletic participation rates among a school's student population.
Congratulations to all student-athletes, coaches and supporters of the athletic programs at HWRHS.
