Hamilton-Wenham Students Make a Powerful Showing at DECA District 3 Conference: 107 Students Headed to State Conference in March
The Hamilton-Wenham DECA team delivered an outstanding performance at the DECA District Career Development Conference, with 107 students qualifying for the State Conference. The competition took place on Wednesday, December 10, and Thursday, December 11, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Danvers, showcasing the exceptional talent of Hamilton-Wenham's future business leaders.
Competing in a dynamic event that included over 50 categories across marketing, hospitality, finance, and entrepreneurship, Hamilton-Wenham DECA made a strong impression among the 11 schools and over 1,500 students in attendance. The 275-student team showcased exceptional talent and determination, earning well-deserved recognition for their achievements. They hope to continue their success at the State Career Development Conference in Boston from March 12-14, 2026.
The dedication and hard work of Hamilton-Wenham DECA participants were celebrated during a virtual awards ceremony, where those who secured a top-6 placement in their respective categories were recognized as State Conference qualifiers. Details regarding the State Conference will be revealed in January.
The Hamilton Wenham DECA team expresses gratitude for the support received from the school community, parents, and faculty at the high school. This unprecedented success in the DECA program is a testament to Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District’s commitment to diligently preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow.
Team and series competitors took a 100-question test, then performed a role-play in front of judges. Role-plays are common business scenarios where the student is asked to solve a problem and present their solution to the judge. Project competitors conducted research, prepared a paper, and presented their ideas on the day of the conference.
