State Tournament Updates (6/21/22 - 9:15 AM)
  • Number one seeded HW Girl's Tennis (23-0, State Champs & CAL Champs) defeated Wareham on the duPont Courts on the campus of MIT in Cambridge, 4-1 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament, State Championship Match.

    With the win, the G
enerals earn the first State Championship in program history.  The Wareham Vikings did not make it easy.  Each match was incredibly tight and the score was not indicative of the close nature of the match.  However, having already secured 2nd Doubles, the Generals took 2nd Singles and 1st Doubles within moments of one another, securing the victory.

Congratulations to Head Coach Joe Maher and the entire team on their undefeated season that led to Cape Ann League and State Titles.

  • The magical ride through the MIAA Division IV State Tournament of number four seeded HW Boy's Tennis (16-4, CAL Champs) came to an end yesterday in the Final Four at the hands of top seeded Weston at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury.  The Generals gave the Wildcats a great battle, particularly in 1st and 2nd Singles.  To note, the first set of the 1st Singles match last 97 minutes.  The Generals wrap a season for the ages.

  • Number six seeded HW Girl's Lacrosse (12-8) saw their season come to an end at the hands of Triton Regional High School, 12-11 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament, Sweet Sixteen  The Generals battled hard in a tightly contested match-up that was back and forth throughout.  While they will not be advancing, HW was competitive game in and game out all year and can look back on their season knowing they left it all on the field.

  • Number 18 seeded HW Boy's Lacrosse (6-14) was eliminated in the Sweet Sixteen Round of the MIAA Division IV State Tournament by Cohasset, 12-5.  It was a tremendous effort by the underdog Generals, who surged at year's end and trailed by just two goals at halftime against a strong and talented Cohasset team.

  • Number four seeded HW Baseball fell to Leicester, 4-3 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament.  The Generals, who return all but one starter next year, conclude a very successful season at 12-10 and a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in the MIAA's inaugural Statewide Tournament.
